Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive personal information.

Email Authentication. Hallway uses magic link authentication. When you enter your college email, we send a one-time login link via email. We do not store passwords. Authentication is handled securely via Supabase.

Video & Audio Calls. All video and audio communication on Hallway is peer-to-peer via WebRTC (using the simple-peer library and metered.ca TURN servers for connection routing). We do not record, store, intercept, or have access to the content of your video or audio calls.

Chat Messages. Text messages sent during a video call session are transmitted in real time via Socket.io. We do not persistently store chat message content after a session ends.

All personal information you provide must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes.

Session data (such as real-time chat messages) is not stored persistently after a session ends. Profile information (name, display name, college, photo, interests) is retained until you delete your account.

Hallway is intended for use by college and university students who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or process data from anyone under 18. By using the Services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will deactivate that account and delete the data promptly. 7. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Opting out of communications: You can opt out of non-essential emails from us at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly. We may still send you essential account-related communications.

You can review or update your profile information at any time from your account settings. To request account deletion, contact us at privacy@hallwaychat.online. Upon deletion, we will remove your account and associated data from our active systems, though some information may be retained in backups for a limited period or as required by law.

8. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature you can activate to signal your privacy preference. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. If a standard is adopted in the future that we must follow, we will update this Privacy Notice accordingly.
